Regulations for disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Information for consumers in the UK
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations (2006 No. 3289) are part of UK law and have been put in place to ensure that products are recycled using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques to ensure human health and high environmental protection. The legislation also aims to make producers pay proper treatment and recycling of waste electrical equipment.
By law, UK companies selling certain electrical products must either accept WEEE returns themselves, or be registered with an authorised WEEE compliance scheme and make regular financial contributions to the scheme to pay for the treatment of the electrical equipment they have sold. Companies retailing portable batteries, must additionally be registered as a Battery Producer. Our WEEE Producer Registration Number is WEE/CK2888SV and our Batteries Producer Registration Number is BPRN01967.
The amount of WEEE consumers and businesses throw away is increasing every year and is the fastest growing waste stream in the UK. Unfortunately, much of the UK's WEEE currently ends up in landfill, where the toxins cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife, and human health.
Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.
Here at Cloud9Vaping, we take our responsibilities as a retailer of WEEE seriously and like to do as much as we can for the environment and think our customers do too.

This symbol is known as the 'Crossed out Wheeled Bin Symbol'.
By law, this symbol must be present on certain products and/or packaging.
When you see this symbol, it means that the product should not be disposed of with your general household waste. Only discard electrical/electronic items in separate collection schemes, which cater for the recovery and recycling of materials contained within. Your co-operation is vital to ensure the success of these schemes and for the protection of the environment.
Contact your local Recycling Centre to find out how to safely and correctly dispose of your small electrical items and batteries or check out http://www.erp-batteries.co.uk.
